The New York Times recently published a piece on the increased interest in floating solar arrays, and as the first adopter of a Floatovoltaic™ system, we were excited to be a part of the story.

In 2008, we installed 994 solar panels on pontoons over an irrigation pond at our Oakville winery, along with another 1,302 on land.

At the time, the move was perceived as groundbreaking. It is thrilling to see that adopting solar arrays, both water and land-based, is becoming more and more mainstream.

As a winery, the heart of our business is agriculture, and we’ve long realized we have an obligation to do our part and take sustainable measures, whether that’s implementing extensive recycling programs, adopting organic farming practices, or collecting winery process water for vineyard operations like irrigation and frost protection.
