Last Saturday marked our annual Chardonnay Celebration! It was one of those resplendent, sun-soaked days that will be reminisced upon with a warm smile and a slight twinkle of the eye. Our centuries-old winery was alive with the sounds of laughter between friends, music from a spectacular live band, and an all-around infectious joviality -- truly living up to the spirit of "Il Dolce Far Niente". It gives us great pleasure to be able to open our doors to both new and familiar faces, to pour our lovingly crafted wines, and most importantly, to set the scenery for memories that won't be soon forgotten.
Mini pizzas were on the menu for the day -- to the left, caramelized onions, kalamata olives, and blue cheese. To the right, shaved proscuitto, fresh mozzarella, romesco sauce, and basil chiffonade.
Amongst the various wines poured at last Saturday’s event were two very special vintages: 1987 and 1986 Far Niente Chardonnay, both aged to a gorgeous, deep honey hue.
Thanks again to all of our dear friends who joined us for this year's Chardonnay Celebration!

Buying Futures refers to purchasing wine that is still maturing in barrel. In France, this more than 200-year old practice is known as en primeur, which literally translates to, as being new.
