Information You Provide to Us
When you visit shop.farniente.com, you have several opportunities to submit information to us:
At Checkout – When you purchase wines from us, we ask for your name, date of birth, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, credit card number, and email address so we may process your order according to state regulations as well as provide information to your credit card company for verification and approval.
When you make a purchase or join one of our wine clubs, your credit card statement will show the charge as coming from “Far Niente/Nickel & Nickel.”
My Account – When you create an account, you supply your name, date of birth, address, phone number, credit card number, email address, user name, and password. We use this information to fulfill your orders in a timely manner. We are never able to see your password. If you need to reset either your username or password, simply click the link on the login page.
Mailing List – When you supply your email address or indicate that you wish to receive winery updates via email from us, we send you pertinent information about our wines and wineries. If at any time you wish to unsubscribe, simply click the link at the bottom of your most recent email from us.
Gift Messages – You have the opportunity to supply a gift message on your orders. We make no use of the information contained in these greetings except to completely your order as requested.
Information We Don’t Collect
When you browse our website, we do not collect your name, email address or any other personal information unless you provide it to us.
Security
Our third-party e-commerce provider, WineDirect, is certified according to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Your credit card data is encrypted with a Triple DES (3DES) algorithm.
How We Use Email
After you place an order on our site, you will receive an email confirmation as well as an email with shipment tracking information. You will also receive information about our wines and wineries and may unsubscribe at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” at the end of any email.
